Our Capability

Our capability reflects our technical skills in the preparation, consolidation and presentation of passenger transport timetable data from a variety of sources.

Our philosophy is to collate data once, providing for a range of outputs using that single source.

The two fundamental issues in providing passenger transport information are:

  • The compilation of correct, up-to-date data
  • The ability to structure and search it

We receive and process data in a number of formats. Our processing brings the data into a common format which is combined and manipulated in different ways.

This means we provide a comprehensive range of services, assisting our clients in the delivery of passenger information to their customers.

An example of our commitment to exciting new projects is seen in the development of a door-to-door public transport information system for the whole of Scotland, mirroring a similar system provided by our associate company in the Netherlands.

Basic Timetable Data

1. The BTD Data Model

Designed by transport experts and developed in consultation with public and private sector transport professionals, Basic Timetable Data is a purpose-built database handling all modes of Passenger Timetable Information.

We believe our model is unique in its power and flexibility in the handling, merging and updating of timetable data.

2. Basic Timetable Database (BTD)

A radical approach in the provision of PTI production and maintenance.

  • BTD is designed by transport experts and is developed in consultation with public and private sector transport professionals.File standards are based on transport experience, and the issues of currency and change. Constantly in mind have been their effects on updating workloads, particularly in a dynamic deregulated environment.The philosophy is based on effectiveness and efficiency with ease of data entry in mind
  • System includes a data input and editing module featuring an interface akin to a printed timetable for ease of input by non-technical staff
  • Simplifies database creation - without compromising the power of the system
